The Consulting Room
It is human nature to feel sad, depressed or angry at times. That's normal. But as individuals we can differ in our ability to deal with the stresses and pressures of life. When problems persist it may be helpful to seek some professional support. Ignoring feelings or bottling up strong emotions can affect the ability to enjoy life and may eventually damage health. Talking privately, in confidence, to someone who listens and understands can bring unexpected relief. It helps to get things off your chest, clear your mind and to bring a focus that can help you come to terms with what you need. With a counsellor or therapist you can sort out conflicting feelings and explore options to help resolve practical or emotional concerns, knowing you are using a qualified person to assist you. Many personal concerns and sources of distress can benefit from counselling … anger, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family problems, lack of assertion, loneliness, relationship issues, lack of confidence, sexual issues, stress … Each of us is unique in how we respond to situations and in how we react to those responses. After painful experiences, like divorce or bereavement it can be hard to find a way forward. Feeling stuck, alone and unable to make progress can lead to a downward spiral. Counselling can help to promote the natural healing process and brings reassurance that you can come through the difficult times you encounter in your life. How counselling could possibly help you can be assessed at an initial assessment session. If you wish to see more information press 'More' or to contact The Consulting Room press 'Contact'.
